I highly recommend Lam Dermatology!! They knew exactly how to help me better my skin. When certain medications didn’t work they immediately knew what to do. They had me on Accutane for 7 months and every time I went to a follow up appointment the entire staff was so nice and helpful. I worked with Dr.Pham and she is the best! She was always friendly and made me feel like a valued patient! 10/10 if you are looking for a dermatologist choose Lam!

I don’t normally like to write reviews but this was well deserved. Lam dermatology team really went out of their way to address my concerns even though I reached out last minute . Whole team was so delightful to work with. Very professional and friendly. I felt very comfortable! So easy to reach out and always willing to resolve if any concerns! Michael went above and beyond to make sure I see someone quick at the office. Thanks everyone!

If you are African American or a person of color, proceed at your own risk. I went in for a preventive skin cancer screening. Initially, the visit was for an issue that cleared on its own. Instead of canceling the appointment, I changed it to a preventive cancer screening. During the actual screening, Dr. Lam told me, “you’re not at risk for skin cancer because you have darker skin.” She then reluctantly asked if I had any areas of concern. She didn’t check me at all; instead, she reiterated that people of color have a low risk. I’m well aware I have a lower risk, unless it runs in the family, that shouldn’t stop a board-certified doctor from performing a full screening. As a flight attendant, we are encouraged and incentivized to get cancer screenings every year due to the amount of radiation we are exposed to constantly. It doesn’t matter if your skin is dark or not. Considering Dr. Lam is of Asian descent, I expected her to conduct herself in a better manner, but I was sadly mistaken. I can only imagine what level of service others are experiencing. On 12/19/2023, I received a text from the “office manager,” Chelsey, that I had a balance for a visit that is 100% covered under my insurance. I checked my EOB at that point and, to my surprise (yet again), the office billed me for a regular visit. I called to get a better understanding of “why it wasn’t coded/billed under preventive/annual care?” Only at that moment was I informed by the office manager, “we don’t bill preventive care. Everything is billed as a regular office visit. You guys went over other things in the visit as well.” The receptionist who took my card information and explained billing to me initially never once mentioned they didn’t offer preventive care. Had I known better, I would’ve found a more suitable dermatologist. This behavior is predatory. I will be reporting Dr. Lam and her staff to the Oklahoma Medical Board and the American Board of Dermatology for misconduct, discriminatory, and predatory practices.

The office staff at Norman and South Okc office were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. When I went to see Dr. Lam herself however, she came in and was very snooty, and acted as if she was disgusted by me that my plaques on my arms were my own fault from scratching them and that she couldn't be at home with me and slap my wrist every time I scratched them that I needed to break the cycle and the habit. She did not take into consideration that I have autoimmune illness and skin plaques are common with that. She ordered me a steroid cream to help and was just overall very judgmental because I'm overweight and I apparently scratch my skin until there is something there 🙄 She was very unprofessional in my opinion and rude. Also she wants a credit card on file and makes you sign to charge your card if you have any remaining balance after insurance has paid which is messed up! We as patients aren't always rolling in the dough and need payment arrangements especially as a single disabled mom and a caregiver for my mom. Have some compassion and consideration for others! If you don't have compassion for others then you should not be a caregiver of any kind in the medical field.

Out of 3 experiences we've had with Lam Dermatology, only one has been good. The front desk staff have been rude two out of the three times we have been there. The provider barely spends any time with you (didn't even make eye contact or look at the patient), and there was little to no discussion about treatment options. The front desk staff are argumentative and condescending. It is completely unacceptable to treat your patients like this at any price point, but it seems particularly frustrating with how much it costs to receive care at this clinic. We will be switching dermatologists.

I feel this is a hustle office. First off, they wanted my CC right at the desk, never have I ever been in a Dr office where this was requested. NEVER,,,,,, During my screening, the PA said, you need to give your CC to the office. they even had a sticky note on my bill that said, "will not provide CC"... I said no again.... Then as I checked out and paid cash for my co pay, the office said, we need your CC on file. I said no again, third time now.... This is not acceptable..... Primary care, dentists, specialty office, never makes such a request.... Overall visit had the PA telling me I needed 2 more scheduled visits, with no visible issues to be followed up on that was credible, and of course, again, they wanted my CC on file. All about the money is this office! I'm 58 with lots of medical appointment visit experience. This place is suspect at best....... I will not return. Owners should know that customers will not accept this type of bully tactics to obtain CC information outside of the standard insurance, co pay, and back end billing process. STOP trying to play your patients...
